Faith Can Transform a Roof into a Door

There is a story about five friends. One of the friends was paralyzed and couldn't walk. One day, they heard about someone who it was said could heal their friend. So the four friends took their paralyzed friend onto a bed and carried him to the home where this person was staying. But they couldn't get in to see the healer when they arrived because there were so many people.

They had come so far; they couldn't give up now. Their friend was paralyzed and couldn't walk. Desperate for any hope that might help him, they decided that the only way to get their friend to the healer was to dig a hole in the roof of the house and lower their friend down by ropes. So that's what they did.

Now, the healer's name was Jesus. And this was a true story. These four friends did dig a hole in someone's roof to lower their friend down in front of Jesus. What a sight that must have been! And when they did, Jesus saw the faith of the paralyzed man's friends and said to the man, "Son, your sins are forgiven."

This caused all kinds of debate among the others in the house. Because religious leaders were there, like the five friends, to see and witness who this healer was. They became uncomfortable with what Jesus said. And immediately, Jesus knew in his spirit what these religious leaders were thinking, and he said, "Why are you thinking these things? Which is easier to say to the person with paralysis, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Get up, take your mat and walk'? But you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins..." Then Jesus turned to the paralytic and said, "I tell you, get up, take your mat, and go home." And that is precisely what he did. In front of everyone, amazed at what they witnessed, they said, "We have never seen anything like this!"

If you have faith, a roof can become a door.

The average attention span is 8 seconds. For most people, the average sustained attention span, staying on task to accomplish goals, is about 20 minutes. Storytelling is like preparing for the ultimate championship game—it's about strategy, execution, and resilience, all delivered quickly.

The coach-player experience together is one of the remaining sacred spaces. A coach is someone who can help athletes with what they are experiencing. However, coaches must set a course with a clear structure and attainable goals to be effective.
